Australia no registró muertos por Covid-19 por primera vez en dos meses

Casi tres cuartas partes de los casi 27.000 casos registrados en Australia y el 90% de las 816 muertes por coronavirus ocurrieron en el estado de Victoria.

Australia no registró muertos por Covid-19 por primera vez en dos meses, informaron las autoridades sanitarias. El último día sin fallecidos había sido el pasado 13 de julio.

El anuncio coincide con la relajación de las medidas del confinamiento en Melbourne, con casi 5 millones de habitantes y la segunda ciudad más poblada de Australia, para permitir más tiempo para hacer deporte en el exterior, así como se retrasar el toque de queda nocturno, entre otros cambios, tras una reducción significativa de los casos de contagio de la enfermedad.

Además, sólo se registraron 50 infectados nuevos en todo el país, por debajo de los más de 700 detectados a fines de julio y principios de agosto.

Casi tres cuartas partes de los casi 27.000 casos registrados en Australia y el 90% de las 816 muertes por coronavirus ocurrieron en el estado de Victoria. Desde el inicio de la pandemia, el país suma 26.692 contagios de Covid-19.
