El país es la segunda nación con la mayor tasa de infectados y decesos en la región, siendo superado solo por Brasil.

Durante este domingo, el Ministerio de Salud de Perú informó que se registraron 2.186 nuevos casos confirmados con Covid-19, alcanzando los 27.517 infectados.
Además, se contabilizaron 28 fallecimientos en las últimas 24 horas, llegando a un total de 728 muertos.
Mientras que la cantidad de personas hospitalizadas llegó a los 3.632, de los cuales 554 se encuentran en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos con ventilación mecánica, y 8.088 personas fueron dadas de alta.
Lima es la región con mayor número de contagios (17.884), seguido de Callao (2.615), Lambayeque (1.602) y Piura (790).
