Científicos descubren que árbitros más bajos dan más tarjetas roja y amarilla

Estudio analizó el "complejo de Napoleón" entre los referís de la liga inglesa.

Científicos publicaron en enero un estudio en el que buscaron encontrar ejemplos del llamado «complejo de Napoleón» –un presunto tipo de complejo de inferioridad donde las personas bajas perciben su altura como una desventaja que hay que compensar– entre los árbitros que se desempeñan en el fútbol británico.

El estudio analizó los datos respecto a 61 referís hombres de las cuatro ligas del fútbol inglés: La Premier League, Championship, League One y League Two, durante la temporada 2017/18.

Según los investigadores «los árbitros más bajos entregaron más tarjetas amarillas, y en ligas menores, más tarjetas rojas y penales«. En específico, se encontró que los jueces que medían menos de 182 cms usaban un 20% más las tarjetas amarillas que sus pares más altos.
